Felted Art Workshop

Create your own piece of felted artwork in just 45 minutes!

You can make and take home, your own artwork. of the most iconic landmarks in York.
York Minster or Clifford’s Tower.

As it’s the Halloween Craft Festival – we’re creating a night scene.

Even if you are an absolute beginner, you can create your own artwork made from felting wool fibres.
Learn the ancient crafts of wet and needle felting to create your own unique artwork for your home.
Bring a friend.
Bring a group.

Katy Small is your tutor for the workshop. She is a felt artist, maker and teacher who exhibits in Yorkshire
and beyond. You can find her at many Art fairs and festivals. Katy was a secondary school teacher for 24
years before taking the plunge in 2022 to set up her own art and craft business. She is a member of Artists
Around Wetherby and the International Feltmaker’s Association.

Katy will take you through each step of the felting process. All materials are included.
(Children over age 7 are welcome, if accompanied by an adult).

You can take home your picture with you directly after the workshop.

When and where are the workshops:

As part of the Yorkshire Halloween Festival, these workshops will take place on Parliament Street in the heart of York, within the “Artists Around Wetherby” pop-up marquee.  The workshops will take place on the following dates/times:

Duration:

The felt picture workshop will last approx. 45 min. 

Costs:

The felt picture workshop is £15. You can take home your picture with you directly after the workshop.

You will need a plastic bag to carry it home, as it will be damp.

Drop – in needle felting sessions cost £5.00 (no need to book-just turn up)

Capacity:

The felt picture workshop is suitable for 6 people at a time.
