The Licky Cow is one of our most popular and enduring Highland Cattle prints. The image of a Highland calf licking his nose makes everyone smile.

I have photographed Highland Cattle for over 10 years and while many are photographed close to home in Yorkshire I have photographed them from Dartmoor to the Scottish Highlands and even as far afield as Estonia and Australia.

This little herd of calves is one of my favourite photographic subjects. It was taken at the Fairburn Ings Reserve in Yorkshire and this calf produced a great picture by licking snow from his nose at just the right moment. Much loved by animal, and especially cattle lovers, everywhere and guaranteed to make almost anyone smile.
