Paper Flower Workshop
Create your own paper flower in just 1 hour!
Create your own Paper Rose
Learn how to make paper roses from your choice of book paper, sheet music, maps or coloured paper. The finished roses will then be mounted on wire stems. You will develop the skills to make further roses at home and take away templates and instructions to help you. Book paper flowers make lovely gifts, home decorations or even wedding bouquets. If you wear reading glasses, we recommend bringing them with you.

Create your own Kusudama Flower
Learn about the Japanese art of kusudama and recycle old maps, book pages and sheet music into beautiful flowers! Don’t worry if you are beginner at origami, we will guide you patiently through all the steps involved and also cover different options for decorating and using your flower. You will take away instructions so that you can continue to make more flowers after the workshop. If you wear reading glasses, we recommend bringing them with you.
Age: 14+, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
The papercraft workshops are run by L & S Crafts, based in York, a wife & husband team, Laura & Sam. Specialising in paper and natural crafts, with a focus on botanical and nature-inspired themes, they deliver workshops for individuals, community groups, festivals, and corporate events. Laura is a qualified and experienced teacher who really enjoys developing new workshops to pass on these skills to others. Sam is an amateur artist, a self-confessed dabbling sketcher, whose art is inspired by nature and the outdoors.
When and where are the workshops:
As part of the Yorkshire Craft Festival, these workshops will take place on Parliament Street in the heart of York, within the “Paper Crafts” pop-up marquee. The workshops will take place on the following dates/times:
10:00 – 11:00 Paper rose
11:30 – 12:30 Kusudama flower
13:00 – 14:00 Paper rose
14:30 – 15:30 Kusudama flower
16:00 – 17:00 Paper rose
Duration:
The paper flower workshop will last approx. 1 hour
Costs:
The paper flower workshop is £12 – You can take home your flower with you directly after the workshop.
Capacity:
The paper flower workshop is suitable for 10 people at a time.
