Felted Picture Workshop
Create your own piece of felted artwork in just an hour. Even if you are an absolute
beginner, you can create your own artwork made from felting wool fibres.
Learn the ancient craft of wet felting to create your own unique artwork for your home.
Katy Small is your tutor for the workshop. She is a felt artist, maker and teacher who
exhibits in Yorkshire and you can find her at many village halls, crafts fairs and festivals. Katy
was a secondary school teacher for 24 years before taking the plunge in 2022 to set up her
own art and craft business. She is a member of Artists Around Wetherby and the
International Feltmaker’s Association.
Katy will take you through each step of the wet felting process. All materials are included.
(Children over age 7 are welcome if accompanied by an adult).
When and where are the workshops:
As part of the Yorkshire Craft Festival, these workshops will take place on Parliament Street in the heart of York, within the “Artists Around Wetherby” pop-up marquee. The workshops will take place on the following dates/times:
Wednesday 17th April 3pm
Thursday 18th April at 3pm
Friday 19th April at 3pm
Sunday 21st April at 1.30pm & 3pm
Duration:
The felt picture workshop will last approx. 1 hour.
Costs:
The felt picture workshop is £30. You can take home your picture or product with you directly after the workshop.
You will need a plastic bag to carry it home, as it will be damp.
Capacity:
The felt picture workshop is suitable for 6 people at a time.
