Oblong Dish with Handles-Chicken

Description

This elegant handmade earthenware pottery dish features a hand-drawn chicken design created with different layers of coloured glazes and hot wax. When the pot is fired the wax melts in the kiln and the lines of the drawing move subtly, uniting pot and drawing. The dish itself is very versatile – use it for your butter or cheese at the table, serve small finger-foods in it at a party, store loose change or put it on a dressing table to place jewellery on.

Elizabeth’s glazed earthenware pottery is created to be both decorative and functional. It is dishwasher safe. The pottery may be put in the microwave but please note the pot becomes hot during this process so care must be taken when handling it. Due to the firing temperatures of earthenware pottery it is not ovenproof but can be warmed to serve hot food and liquids.
