Acrylic Painting Workshop
This workshop should inspire you to believe there is an artist in us all. This one-hour session gives you the opportunity to use acrylics in a loose spontaneous way. Clare will demonstrate painting poppies and buttercups but if this does not float your boat you can paint something else. All materials are provided but please ensure you are not wearing your best clothes as acrylic paint does stain.
Your tutor, Clare Dean, will encourage you to work in a loose style, using palette knives and brushes to create an original piece of art you will be proud to keep. Clare believes everyone can paint, and watching the amazing marks you can make will lift your mood. Clare is a self-taught artist who runs workshops for art groups and individuals in the Yorkshire area.
Whether you’re a beginner eager to try something new or an experienced artist wanting to work more freely, everyone is welcome.
(Children over age 12 are welcome if accompanied by an adult).
When and where are the workshops:
As part of the Yorkshire Craft Festival, these workshops will take place on Parliament Street in the heart of York, within the “Artists Around Wetherby” pop-up marquee. The workshops will take place on the following dates/times:
15th October at 12 noon and 15th October at 3.00pm
17th October at 1.30pm and 17th October at 3.00pm
18th October at 12 noon & 18th October at 3.00pm
19th October at 10.30am and 19th October at 1.30pm
22nd October at 10.30am & 22nd October at 1.30pm
Duration:
The acrylic painting workshop will last approx. 1 hour.
Costs:
The acrylic painting workshop is £20. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own painting, and you will be provided with a mount, backer, and bag to take it home, of a standard size so you can frame your work easily.
Capacity:
The acrylic painting workshop is suitable for 6 people at a time.
